Tracker Cards Overview

What is a tracker card?

A tracker card is a Bluetooth tracker in credit card format. If you misplace the item it's in, you can make the card ring via your smartphone or see its last location on a map. Unlike GPS devices, it doesn't need a SIM card or mobile phone contract.

What types of Bluetooth trackers are there?

Three form factors have become standard: round tags like the AirTag that hang on key chains or bags, small clips for remote controls or eyeglass cases, and flat cards for anything with a card slot. For wallets, cases, or document folders, the card is the right form because every millimeter counts.

How does tracking work with a tracker card?

The card sends an encrypted Bluetooth signal. Nearby smartphones receive it and report the position anonymously to Apple's Find My or Google's Find Hub. You then see the location in the Find My or Google Find Hub app. There are no ongoing costs, the networks are free.

How is a tracker card constructed?

On the outside like a bank card: same format, no display, no buttons. Inside sits a Bluetooth chip, a speaker, and power supply. With Trackcard, that's a rechargeable battery, the case is 1.7 mm thin and protected against water and dust to IP68. There's nothing to open and no battery to replace.

What should you watch for when buying a tracker card?

Four points decide: First, the network, it must match your phone (Apple Find My for iPhone, Google Find Hub for Android). Second, the power supply, rechargeable or disposable battery. Third, the volume, below 90 dB you won't hear the card much in daily use. Fourth, the thickness, over 2 mm many card slots won't close properly.

Which Trackcard is right for my phone?

It depends on your smartphone: The Trackcard Tag is built for iPhones and uses Apple's Find My network (from iOS 14.5 onwards). The Trackcard One is the version for Android and works with Google Find Hub (from Android 9 onwards, Huawei is not supported).

How long does a tracker card battery last?

The Trackcard Tag runs for 6 months on a charge, the Trackcard One for 4 months. Both cards are rechargeable, so you don't have to replace them when the battery dies. Charging is wireless, for example with the ChargePad Pro.

What do our customers use tracker cards for?

Most often the card sits in the wallet. It works just as well in the handbag, laptop bag, suitcase, or document case when traveling. Families put them in school backpacks or in grandparents' key pouches. In short: anywhere something might get lost and there's no room for a thick tag.

What else do you get from Trackcard?

Besides individual cards, there are two-packs and family bundles for multiple items or the whole family, as well as chargers and accessories. In the guide we also explain how tracker technology works and what to do if you lose your wallet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a tracker card work with iPhone and Android?

Yes, but with different models: The Trackcard Tag is made for iPhone and Apple Find My (from iOS 14.5), the Trackcard One for Android and Google Find Hub (from Android 9). Huawei devices are not supported.

Is the tracker card waterproof?

Yes, both models are IP68 rated. Rain, spilled drinks, or brief submersion won't harm the card.

How loud is the tracker card?

The Trackcard Tag reaches 105 dB, the Trackcard One 100 dB. That's loud enough to hear the card even under pillows, in jacket pockets, or in the next room.

Do I need a subscription for location tracking?

No. Location tracking via Apple or Google's network is permanently free. You pay once for the card, and no further costs apply.

Does the card fit in every wallet?

Yes. The Trackcard has credit card format and is 1.7 mm thin. It fits in any normal card slot without adding bulk.

Rechargeable or battery: What's better for a tracker card?

Cards with a fixed battery last several years and then go entirely to waste. Rechargeable cards like the Trackcard you simply place on a charging pad every few months and keep using indefinitely. However, they cost more upfront.

Who can see my card's location?

Only you. The card is linked to your Apple or Google account, and only that account sees its location. Devices that report your card in transit do so anonymously and encrypted. Their owners learn nothing about it.

Is a tracker card good as a gift?

Yes, especially for people who often lose their wallets or keys. The important thing is to ask one question before buying: Does the person have an iPhone or an Android phone? That determines the model. Setup takes a few minutes and doesn't require tech knowledge.

Where is Trackcard developed?

Trackcard is developed in Germany. If you have questions, you can reach our support team via the contact page, and you'll find answers to frequently asked questions in our Help Center.

What if I don't like the product?

No problem: You have a 60-day return right. Just contact our support and you'll get your money back.

How long is my warranty?

All Trackcard products come with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty.

Where can I find setup instructions?

Step-by-step instructions are available as Video Guides and in the User Manuals. Setup takes just a few minutes and works directly via Apple or Google, without an extra app.
