What is a wireless charger?
A wireless charger charges devices without a plug connection: you simply place the device on the charging surface, and the technology in the pad takes care of the rest. Only the charger itself is still connected to a cable. For devices without their own charging port, such as tracker cards, this is the only way to charge.
How does wireless charging work?
Via induction: a coil in the charging pad generates a magnetic alternating field. A second coil in the placed device converts this field back into electricity and charges the battery. This is why charging works through the housing without any open contacts, and devices can be built completely sealed.
Which devices can be charged wirelessly?
Most current smartphones, many headphone charging cases, and tracker cards. Whether a device can be charged wirelessly is listed in its technical specifications. For iPhones, the technology is called MagSafe; for most other manufacturers it's based on the Qi standard. Tracker cards like the Trackcard are built exclusively for wireless charging.
What should you look for in a charging pad?
Four things: the charging power in watts, which determines the charging speed. The connection, typically USB-C nowadays. The material and stability, so the pad stays on your desk or nightstand where it belongs. And the scope of delivery, because not every charger comes with a cable.
What accessories does a tracker card need?
Less than you might think: tracker cards are sealed against water, so they don't need a case or spare batteries. The essential accessory is a charging pad, because the cards charge wirelessly. A charge on the Trackcard Tag lasts 6 months; on the Trackcard One, 4 months. The charging pad is only used a few times a year.

The ChargePad Pro charges both Trackcard models as well as MagSafe-compatible iPhones and other wireless-capable smartphones at up to 7.5 W. The housing is made of aluminum with a matte finish, and it connects via USB-C. A cable is deliberately not included; simply use your existing smartphone charging cable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do tracker cards not have a charging port?
A port would be an opening in the case and would make the card thicker and more vulnerable. Wireless charging works through the closed case. This keeps the card 1.7 mm thin and waterproof to IP68.
Does the ChargePad Pro also charge my iPhone or Android smartphone?
Yes. In addition to both Trackcard models, it charges MagSafe-compatible iPhones and other wirelessly chargeable smartphones with up to 7.5 W.
Is a cable included with the ChargePad Pro?
No, the ChargePad itself is shipped. You connect it with an existing USB-C cable, for example your smartphone's charging cable.
Do I need to set up the ChargePad Pro?
No. Connect the cable, place the card or smartphone on the charger, charging starts automatically. It needs neither app nor installation.
